Heidi's brother's bride picked us up at the airport :) Forgive my vagueness with names and the lack of pictures of them. Her brother is not a fan of FB and social media/pictures so out of respect for him I'll just leave their details/faces out of all of this. Hopefully anyone following along can still find the blog interesting.
Anyway, before leaving the airport, we bought a 4-day German rail pass that we plan to use later to ride 4 hours to Hamburg to visit an old friend of Heidi's. That should be quite an adventure!
After getting picked up, we went to Wiesbaden and saw where the wedding will be and we went to Heidi's parents' hotel room and hung out there for awhile. We then went later to check-in where we are staying. After about an hour nap, we went to meet up with family/friends to ride a city train around and see some local sites. Those kinds of things are always fun to see a bit of the area and get oriented. It was the train company's 10th anniversary I think, so afterward they had free wine/champagne and pretzels/snacks.
We then went to one of their apartments and hung out for a few hours until dinner tonight. In true Greg fashion, I took a sip or two of wine and didn't want the rest, and of course, I asked for pizza at the neat Italian place they took us to. All of the wedding guests that are in the area for the wedding went to that as well. We left there first because we're beat and I think I've only slept like 5 hours in the last 3 days.
Anyway, for now here are some pics that were taken so far. Thinking we'll get a good night's sleep tonight. Going tomorrow on a boat ride and to a small town nearby for shopping. Hope everyone is well back home. Later...
